No More Cookie Cutter Modesty!

When I started ModestPop.com, I was most excited about providing modest clothing that didn't have to be layered at a fair and excellent price. When I started sharing what I'd created with other people, lots of them were excited about something else. One lady said, "This is soo great! Now we don't have to wear those undershirts every single day in order to be modest. You start feeling like a cookie cutter in one of them, because everybody wears them to be modest!" She also commented that since there are only a handful of modest clothing stores and everybody shops at the same ones, you can point around the room at church and identify where everybody got their outfit. Another girl said, "I hate putting on an undershirt every day. I want to be modest, but I don't want to have to wear one every day."

I feel the same way! I started to feel like an undershirt was part of a uniform or something, because I always defaulted to wearing one every day. My sense of style and creativity was feeling stale because wearing an undershirt every day doesn't feel very fresh, creative, or stylish after a while. I'm hoping that I can get rid of my undershirt tan by next summer! Who knows, it might be possible! ;)

I still appreciate having undershirts as part of my wardrobe. They look great under the lace cardi, for example. But it's nice not HAVING to wear one everyday. I like having options. What's your opinion?
